Ada’s Hickman advances to regional final in 400

FOSTORIA__The Ada High School track and field team had two individual athletes and one relay team compete in four events on day one of the Div. V Northwest Regional Track and Field Meet on Thursday, May 28 at Fostoria Memorial Stadium.
Ada senior speedster Kayleb Hickman did well in two preliminary races.
Hickman finished a strong third out of 16 runners in the 400-meter preliminary heats with a time of 50.53 to qualify for the finals on Saturday.
Hickman also took 10th in a field of 16 sprinters in the 200-meter dash preliminary heats with a time of 23.12.
Only the top two finishers in each heat, plus those with the next four best times, advanced to the 200-meter finals on Saturday.
Powerful Ada sophomore Rose Baxter finished a solid 11th out of 16 runners in the girls 400-meter preliminaries with a personal-best time of 61.59.

The Bulldog girls 4x100 relay foursome comprised of speedy sophomores Baxter, Charliegh Entinghe, Ayliah Kober and senior Jordyn Smith crossed the finish line 14th out of 16 teams in their preliminary heat.
The quartet posted a time of 52.42 on Thursday. Only the top eight relay teams advanced to the finals Saturday.
Bulldog senior Anna Conley will compete in the flight one discus prelims on Saturday at 11 a.m. Conley is seeded 13th in the field of 16. The top nine will advance to the discus finals on Saturday, where they will have three more attempts.
The top five finishers in the discus finals will then qualify for the state meet in Columbus next week.
