FROM FACEBOOK__On August 24, members of the Ada-Liberty Township Fire Department conducted training on rural water pumping operations. Because portions of our response area do not have access to fire hydrants, the ability to establish and maintain a reliable water supply is an important part of our fire suppression operations.

Members utilized the Old Rite Aid parking lot to simulate a rural fire scene without a hydrant. Crews deployed two portable drop tanks and practiced drafting water with our primary fire suppression engine. Our tanker was also utilized to simulate a tanker water shuttle operation.

Members also trained with our 4x4 grass rig and portable pump, practicing the process of drafting water from a pond or other static water source.

Regular training like this helps our members maintain the skills needed to operate safely and effectively when responding to fires throughout our jurisdiction.
