Bulldog volleyball wins in four vs. Allen East

HARROD__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team defeated traditional local rival Allen East in four tough sets on Thursday night.
The Bulldogs improved to 7-1 with the 25-21, 26-28, 25-22, 25-16 non-league win. AE fell to 2-2 after the defeat.
“It was a battle from start to finish,” said Ada head coach Kylie Murphy. “I am super proud of how the girls responded. We had several players make big contributions in different moments, and they are doing a better job of trusting each other, themselves and settling into their roles.
“Seeing the confidence develop as the season continues is exciting,” she added.
Ada sophomore Tea Griffith doled out 24 assists, smacked six kills and mustered 13 digs. She also came up with two solo blocks, two block assists and served three aces.
Senior Jaylin St. Laurent passed out 17 assists, hustled up nine digs and dealt one ace.
Senior Brooklyn Andreasen knocked down a season-high 17 kills, served an ace and made two digs.
Senior Dailah Preston drilled 10 kills. She made three solo blocks and had three assisted blocks. Senior Alivia Gibson hammered six kills and hustled up nine digs.
Freshman Jaycee Allen contributed five kills, four digs and two assists. Sophomore Haylyn Geiger made five digs, dealt five aces, hit two kills and had one block assist.
Sophomore Lucy Carter mustered 17 digs, served three aces and had one assist.
Senior Taylor Price hustled up four digs and dealt a pair of aces. Senior Harlyn Lowry hustled up eight digs.
Ada entertains Cory-Rawson (0-5) and Delphos Jefferson (3-3) in a non-league tri-match Saturday morning.
The Bulldogs then open Blanchard Valley Conference play at home vs. Arcadia (3-3) Monday, Sept. 14.
