Bulldog volleyball wins in four vs. Riverdale

MT. BLANCHARD__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team won the last two games to beat Blanchard Valley Conference foe Riverdale in four sets on Wednesday, Sept. 16.
Ada improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the BVC with the 25-14, 16-25, 25-20, 25-22 road win.
Riverdale fell to 2-7 and 0-2 in the BVC after the home defeat.
“Dailah Preston led us in kills and was really aggressive at the net,” said Ada head coach Kylie Murphy. “She was ready to take care of the ball when we needed her to.
“I’m proud of how we responded and came back after set two, we settled into our job and did what was needed to finish the match,” said Murphy.
Ada senior Dailah Preston slammed 16 kills and had one solo block.
Sophomore Lucy Carter mustered 19 digs and served one ace. Senior Alivia Gibson served up five aces, hustled her way to 15 digs and passed out one assist.
Sophomore Tea Griffith hammered 11 kills, passed out nine assists, came up with seven digs and dealt two aces.
Senior Brooklyn Andreasen smacked eight kills, served two aces and made one solo block. Seniors Taylor Price and Harlyn Lowry came up with five and two digs, respectively.
Senior Jaylin St. Laurent doled out 17 assists and made three digs. Soph Haylyn Geiger dug up four balls. Freshman Jaycee Allen hit two kills and mustered two digs.
Ada plays Monday, Sept. 21 at Pandora-Gilboa (2-6, 0-2 BVC). “I am looking forward to getting back on the court next week,” Murphy noted.
