Allen scores 5

RAWSON__The visiting Ada High School boys soccer team shut out Cory-Rawson 9-0 in a North Central Ohio Soccer Association mismatch on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Bulldog senior Andrew Allen tallied five goals to pace the offensive attack. Senior Carson Conley netted two goals and had one assist. Senior Chase Jarrett contributed two assists and one goal.

Ada improved to 6-5 overall and 1-3 in NCOSA play with the blowout win.

C-R dropped to 0-9 overall and 0-3 in the NCOSA after suffering the lopsided defeat.

“I am happy with how we moved the ball over the course of the game,” said Bulldog head coach Aaron Acheson. “Our players made better decisions with the ball at their feet, and we were able to spread the ball around and get more players involved. We also finished much better in the second half.

“Cory-Rawson plays hard, and they played a high back line,” Acheson continued. “We were much better in the second half at making decisions and taking advantage of the opportunities we created.”

Jarrett assisted Conley's goal at the 28:36 mark of the first half, which put Ada on top 1-0. Allen then netted his first goal with 13:15 left in the half for a 2-0 cushion.  

Conley tallied his second goal with 42 seconds remaining in the half to give Ada a 3-0 cushion at intermission.

In the second half, the Bulldogs poured in six goals. Allen tallied at the 36:09 mark to start the scoring parade. Jarrett doled out assist number two to Allen at the 32:38 juncture to increase the lead to 5-0. 

Conley assisted Allen for a goal at 31:19 to make it 6-0. Allen then assisted a goal by Jarrett. Camden McKean assisted Allen’s fifth goal to stretch the lead to 8-0.

Bulldog Nathan Mosler scored his first varsity goal to provide the final margin. 

“It was a good opportunity to continue getting more players into the game, and I was happy with how the whole team played,” the coach summed up. “It was great to see Nathan Mosler score his first goal in a varsity match.” 

Ada fired 28 shots on goal, while Cory-Rawson mustered just three shots on frame.
