Nancy S. Matson, age 70, of Dola, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Bridge Hospice Care Center, Findlay.

She was born on May 18, 1956, in Findlay, Ohio, to Carl and Jean (Hines) Southward. On August 20, 1977, Nancy married Thomas K. Matson, and he survives in Dola.

Also surviving are her two sons: Brian (Jackie) Matson of Bluffton and Justin (Jennifer) Matson of Convoy; four grandchildren: Ryker Matson, Ellery Matson, Logan Matson and Zoey Matson; a brother, Mark (Vicki) Southward; brother and sister-in-law: Bill and Dianne Gunn; an aunt, Phyllis Scott; and an uncle, Donnie Southward.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Southward; and father and mother-in-law: Arden and Betty Matson.

Nancy retired from Arlington High School, where she was a teacher. Outside of teaching, Nancy found joy in the simple things that made life special. She loved quilting and the creativity and care that went into each project. Her grandchildren held a particularly special place in her heart, and she treasured every opportunity to FaceTime with them and share in their lives, even from a distance. Nancy was also rarely far from her beloved dog, Buckeye, who was a cherished companion.

A private graveside service will be held at Dola Cemetery, Dola with Pastor Gregg King officiating.
