Metzner, Wagner break ONU pentathlon record

Junior Gabrielle Metzner and sophomore Kristine Wagner both broke the school record in the pentathlon on Friday evening at the Oiler Open.
Metzner finished in fifth with 2,775 points and Wagner was right behind in sixth with 2,691 points, both breaking the school record of 2,355 points.
Wagner captured the long jump during the event, while Metzner was third in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.55 seconds.
Other members of both track & field teams competed as well.
In the women's weight throw, sophomoreMichaela Dramis finished 18th, throwing 12.11 meters, with senior Raven McLure finishing 24th with a throw of 11.13 meters and sophomore McKenna Earely finishing 26th with a throw of 10.82 meters.
Sophomore Brandon Foley finished 14th in the men's weight throw, covering 12.22 meters and junior Lance Hartman was 17th throwing 11.06 meters.
Ohio Northern will open its 2014 season on Jan. 17, when it competes at the Northwest Invitational at Findlay.
