Edward "Bill" Risner 1921-2014
Edward M. "Bill" Risner, 92, died on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2014 at 7:20 p.m. at his residence in Alger, surrounded by his family.
He was born on Feb. 15, 1921 in Salyersville, Kentucky, to Buddie and Lula (Lewis) Risner who preceded him in death. He was married to Elsie Nichols and she preceded him in death. He retired from the railroad.
Surviving are two sons: Buddie (Gloria) Risner of Albemarle, N.C. and Edward (Stacy) Risner of Elida; three daughters: Lula (James) Stimmel of Riverton, Wy., Betty (Harmon) Walters of Wapakoneta and Rose (Gary) Kennedy of Rushylvania; two step sons: Darren (Tonya) Bailey of Cridersville and Eugene Bailey; a son-in-law, Larry Fleming of Ada; 15 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; a brother, Forrest Risner of Kenton; a sister, Hortense Stovall of Chicago, Ill.
He was preceded in death by two daughters: Thelma Fleming and an infant daughter; a son, J.C. Risner; several brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger with Pastor Bob Dye officiating. Burial will be in Preston Cemetery, Alger.
Friends may call at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, and until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Community Health Professionals of Ada-Hospice.
