Red Cross blood drive today at Visiting Nurses
Ada's first American Red Cross blood drive of the year is Monday, Jan. 13. The drive takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Ada Visiting Nurses and Hospice, 1200 S. Main St. Ada.
Double red cells who donate blood and enter to win free Kroger groceries for a year.
The second blood drive of the year is Monday, Jan. 20, at Ohio Northern University's McIntosh Center. The drive is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Double red cells who donate blood, receive a free t-shirt and enter to win free Kroger groceries for a year.
Double red cell donation is similar to a whole blood donation, except a special machine is used to allow you to safely donate two units of red blood cells during one donation while returning your plasma and platelets to you.
Blood Donors Must:
• Be healthy
• Be at least 17 years old in most states, or 16 years old with parental consent if allowed by state law
• Weigh at least 110 lbs.
• Additional weight requirements apply for donors 18 years old and younger and all high school donors.
