Paul Edward Adkins, 76, died on Monday, February 24, 2014 at 11:25 p.m. at his residence in Roundhead, Ohio.

He was born October 9, 1937 in New Carlisle, Ohio, to Wiley and Sarah (Hurt) Adkins, who preceded him in death. On May 24, 1961, he married B. Christine Lowery. They both are long-time residents of Hardin County. Christine continues to reside in Roundhead.

Adkins was a veteran of the United States Air Force, worked for several years in the Kenton Fire Department and then went to Durez Occidental Chemical Corporation. He later retired from Ford Motor Company, Lima. Adkins was a lifetime country and western musician.

Surviving are 2 daughters and a son: Tonya (Daniel) Hites of Roundhead, Melody (Robert) LeHew of Manhattan, Kans., and Edward (Amy) Adkins of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 5 grandchildren: Jared and Jordan (Jessica) Hites, Isaak LeHew, Paul and Sarah Adkins; and 3 sisters: Mary Hamilton, Deloris Waddle, and Wilma Prater.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Louella Lawrence, and 3 brothers: Corbit Charles and Kenneth Adkins.

Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m on Saturday, March 1, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger, with Pastor Dan Holbrook officiating. Burial will be in McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, February 28, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Alger and until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
