Eleanor Long was a flower show judge all over Ohio
Eleanor M. Long, 73, died at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2014, at her residence in Ada.
Eleanor was born on February 6, 1941 in Harrod, Ohio to Ralph E. and Elva (Keith) Anspach, and they preceded her in death. On August 23, 1959 she married James M. "Jim" Long and he survives in Ada.
Eleanor was a farm wife. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, LaFayette, where she was a member of the Altar Guild. She was a member of the Lima Garden Club where she was the regional director. She was a member of the Farm Bureau Council #27 for over 50 years. She was a member of the Friends Club. Eleanor was a participant and supporter of the Allen County Fair. She was a member of the Millstream Rose Society of Findlay and was a flower judge all over the state of Ohio.
Surviving are two daughters, Judy E. (Sharon Huber) Long of Dublin, and Diane L. (Dee Fuerst) Long of Columbus; two granddaughters, Mariah and Abby; a brother, Robert (Pam) Anspach of Piqua; a sister, Elsie (Jim) Kantner of Wapakoneta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church Memorial Fund and/or Putnam County Hospice.
