Henry Reffitt owned Reffitt & Roberts Sawmill, Kenton
Henry Hurchel Reffitt, Sr. , 81, died at 8:27 a.m. on April 26, 2014 at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Kenton.
He was born on April 13, 1933 in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Joe Earlin and Lovanday (Bailey) Reffitt and they preceded him in death. On July 10, 1952, he married Hilda DeLong and she died on May 19, 2009.
Henry owned and operated the Reffitt & Roberts Sawmill and worked at Universal Co-Op in Kenton, retiring in 1995. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean War.
He is survived by four sons, Henry (Lolita) Reffitt of Dunkirk, Joe (Dee) Reffitt of Harrod, Dale (Stacy) Reffitt of Dunkirk and Rodney Reffitt of Dunkirk; two daughters, Lavanda (David) England of Kenton and Gayle (Mike) Bilger of Dunkirk; twenty grandchildren and thirty-seven great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers and three infant siblings.
Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, with Rev. Herb DeLong officiating. Burial will be in Dunkirk Cemetery, Dunkirk with graveside military rites conducted by the Ada VFW Post #9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Memorial contributions may be made to Pawsitive Pals c/o Alice Roof at 439 East Pattison Street, Kenton, Ohio 43326.
