Cathy Robirds was a life-long Ada resident
Cathy Diane (Simon) Robirds, 61, died at 1:32 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2014 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima.
She was born on July 4, 1952 in Ada, Ohio to Sylvan and Wanda (Morrison) Simon, who preceded her in death. On April 16, 1971, she married Steven D. Robirds and he survives in Ada.
Cathy began her career as a cosmetologist and resigned from Ohio Northern University Heterick Memorial Library in 2004 to dedicate her days to three of her beloved grandchildren. She was an inactive member of the Ada Church of Christ Disciples.
She is survived by three children, Eric (Michelle) Robirds of Plain City, Amanda (Brenda Welch) Robirds of Forest and Scott (Zeallie) Robirds of Ada; five grandchildren: twins, Alaina and Hailey, and Aaron, Joshua and Elizabeth; two brothers: Anthony (Linda) Simon and Michael (Kimberly) Simon of Ada; a sister-in-law, Karen Simon of Ada.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles "Butch" Simon and David Simon.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 30 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Tom Dearth officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada.
Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada and until time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Charity of the Donor's Choice.
