ONU announces hiring of new vice president of financial affairs
Ohio Northern University President Daniel DiBiasio has announced that William H. Ballard has joined the University as its new vice president of financial affairs. Ballard replaces Roger Young, who has been the interim vice president for the past year.
Ballard had served as vice president for finance and administration at Centenary College of Louisiana, a position he has held since 2003. He also served as Centenary’s controller from 2002-03. Ballard has significant executive-level financial management experience in the corporate sector, having worked for several utility companies and a big eight accounting firm as senior manager.
“Bill’s demonstrated strengths in accounting processes and analysis, leadership, management, and communication will be assets to his new role at Ohio Northern,” said DiBiasio. “In addition to Bill’s financial acumen, he is a hard worker, very analytical, respected by his staff members, and passionate about the academic mission of higher education.”
Ballard holds a master’s degree in business administration, with an accounting emphasis, and a bachelor’s degree in computer and information science from Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
A native of Ohio, Ballard is a member of the Ohio Society and American Institute of CPAs, a member of the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and a member of Small Institution Committee, Southern Association of College and University Business Officers.
