Students, public, getting used to new school building security
Parents and students of Ada schools are now aware of the new building security in place.
According to school officials in the Ada Elementary Back to School Newsletter:
“In an effort to keep improving security for the safety of our students, Ada Schools applied for and received a grant to fund the improvement of the main entrance to our building.
“Improvements for the 2014-15 school year include new doors to the elementary and high school offices and also an electronic entry system with an intercom.
“Once school begins at 8:35 a.m. each morning the doors from the vestibule to the high school and elementary offices will be locked.
“Visitors will be able to enter the vestibule where school personnel will then be able to buzz them in and to use the intercom if necessary.
“It is our intention to improve safety for our students while maintaining an environment that welcomes the community into the school.”
Visitors to the school are reminded to sign-in and sing-out in the high school or elementary office. Visitor stickers are available on the counter and are to be worn while visiting the school.
