Washington Monthly ranks Ohio Northern University in nation’s top 50 for fifth straight year
Washington Monthly has ranked Ohio Northern University 38th in the nation in its 2014 baccalaureate college rankings released this week. ONU has been ranked in the top 50 since 2010.
Washington Monthly rates schools based on their contribution to the public good in three broad categories: social mobility (recruiting and graduating low-income students), research (producing cutting-edge scholarship and Ph.D.s), and service (encouraging students to give something back to their country).
Ohio Northern University President Dan DiBiasio said, “This national recognition as a leader in research, service and social mobility for five consecutive years indicates ONU’s commitment to providing exceptional values to its students, especially in being leaders in research and giving back to the community.”
According to Washington Monthly, Ohio Northern is one of the highest ranked baccalaureate colleges in the state of Ohio. This continues ONU’s status as a state leader in higher education, as the University has received notable accolades from across the nation and has attracted some of the region’s brightest students.
