Distinguished Citizen nominations due Oct. 13; Town and Gown Banquet is Nov. 3
Do you know a "distinguished citizen" in the Ada-Liberty Township area?
Early November brings election day, but in Ada, it first brings the annual Town and Gown Banquet.
The 49th annual banquet is Monday, Nov. 3, with a reception in the activities room in McIntosh Center beginning at 6 p.m. and dinner in the McIntosh Center’s Ballroom at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $15.
One of the most anticipated announcements on the Town and Gown program is the presentation of the Distinguished Citizen Award. The Town and Gown committee considers nominations of individuals or couples who have rendered the greatest contribution to the common good of the entire community during their residency in the community.
Nominations are accepted from the public. The announcement of the individual or couple selected takes place during the Town and Gown Banquet on Nov. 3.
The 2013 Town and Gown Distinguished Citizen was Agnes Crates.
Nomination forms and tickets for the event are available at:
• Village Office,
• Liberty National Bank,
• Quest Federal Credit Union,
• ONU Human Resources, and
• the McIntosh Center Information Desk.
Nomination forms are also available as an attachment on the bottom of this story. Nomination forms are due by Oct. 13.
Town and Gown is a unique experience in Ada and it gives us the opportunity to come together and celebrate our connections and accomplishments as a community. The event also offers a chance to visit with old friends, and as importantly, welcome new friends to the community.
