Ada Friends - mentoring between ONU students and Ada youth - have 2014-15 kickoff
Ada Friends are active this fall.
LOTS OF PHOTOS AT BOTTOM OF STORY!
Here's a report from Austin Hilverding, ONU student and Ada Friends coordinator:
On Oct 7 we had our first event of the year, the Ada Friends Kick-off Party which was a huge success. The party saw 59 out of our 85 matches for the year and many parents attend the event, and total attendance for the event surpassed 160 people by the end of the night.
This event was a great opportunity for the new Littles to get to know their Bigs as well as old matches reconnect and rekindle their Ada friendship for the 2014-15 year.
Last week, on Oct. 16, we loaded 92 passengers into buses and vans and made the short drive over to Pandora, to visit Suter's Corn Maze. The matches in attendance had the opportunity to take a hayride through Suter's forest.
At the end of the hayride, everyone searched through tons of pumpkins to find the perfect one to take home for themselves. We also were able to go through this year's maze titled "The Greatest Show in Corn II," which had a circus theme.
It is incredibly rewarding to see the relationships blossoming between Bigs and Littles after just a few weeks in the program.
We are excited for our November event which will be a Fall Festival held on campus at the ONU Chapel.
