ONU's Dicke College of Business Administration students honored with FEI awards
Two students from Ohio Northern University’s James F. Dicke College of Business Administration were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments at the Financial Executives International (FEI) Toledo Chapter Student Awards Night November 13 in Perrysburg.
Andria Beehler-Evans, a senior accounting major from Bellefontaine, and Ashley Zoeller, a master of professional practice in accounting candidate from Port Clinton, were among 14 students honored at the event. The two ONU students were presented a $500 award check from Jon Strole on behalf of the FEI Toledo Chapter.
Beehler-Evans, the recipient of FEI’s undergraduate award, has served as vice president of Finance for Beta Alpha Psi (accounting honorary), president of Leaders’ Council, and a peer mentor in the business college’s Mentorship Program. In addition, Beehler-Evans is a resident director for ONU’s Residence Life and a member of Mortar Board. Beehler-Evans has earned a 4.0 GPA in her undergraduate career.
Zoeller, the recipient of the FEI graduate/masters award, has served as president, vice president of reporting, and vice president of professional activities for Beta Alpha Psi and president of the student chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants. In addition, Zoeller is a four-year letter-winner on the ONU swimming and diving team and a representative for the ONU’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition to her athletic successes, Zoeller has earned a 4.0 GPA in her undergraduate career.
Financial Executives International is a professional organization for senior financial executives, which represent more than 15,000 individuals worldwide. The FEI “is the leading voice on behalf of corporate financial executives, actively engaging the FASB, IASC, SEC and legislators in dialogue to represent the viewpoints of [its] membership.” To qualify for the annual award, an accounting or finance student must demonstrate a “high level of academic achievement and intellectual honesty, and [must possess] high promise for a successful career in business.”
