Bud Risner was a member of the USV Hall of Fame
Pearl Richard “Bud” Risner, age 82 at 11:14 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at Kindred Hospital, Lima.
He was born on Jan. 22, 1932 in McGuffey, Ohio to Okey and Cloie (Jordan) Risner and they preceded him in death. He first married Betty Faye Stone and she preceded him in death. He later married Alta (Oliver) Dunson and they were married for 40 years. She preceded him in death in March of 2011.
He retired from Rockwell of Kenton, where he worked for 40 years. He spent two years in the U.S. Army. Bud was inducted into the Upper Scioto Valley Hall of Fame in of January 2014.
He was a great supporter of Upper Scioto Valley’s sports programs. He attended all of athletic events and supported the kids. He volunteered his time every day for 3 hours in cafeteria and worked concession stand at USV events. He was a member of the USV Athletic Boosters.
He is survived by two sons: Gregory Risner of McGuffey and Kevin (Nancy) Risner of Muncie, Ind.; two grandchildren: Joy and Richard; three brothers: Kenny (Lorilla) Risner of Kenton, Gary (Judy) Risner of McGuffey and Mike (Monica) Risner of McGuffey; three sisters: Katherine (James) Johnson, Janet (John) Kearns and LaVern (Claude) Conley all of McGuffey.
A memorial service was held Monday, Nov. 24, at Upper Scioto Valley High School Gymnasium, McGuffey, Ohio with Pastor Thomas Dearth officiating.
