2014 weather summary: Let's not have a repeat
2014 will be remembered for several things, but the thing most area residents will remember is the “Winter of 2014.”
Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer, provided The Icon with the 2014 summary with comparisons back to 2006.
Here’s some of the 2014 weather highlights:
• Snowfall recorded at 59.7 inches was more than 22 inches higher than the yearly normal average of 37.10 inches.
• The 2014 average temperature of 48.1 degrees was below the 50.3 degree yearly average temperature.
• The 2014 low temperature set records most residents would like to forget. Minus 16 was January’s low, minus 19 was February’s low and minus 1 was March’s low.
The attachment chart, provided by Verhoff, shows 2014 monthly records and annual comparisons back to 2006.
