CIC gets update on ONU nursing community involvement
Christina Liebrecht, assistant professor of nursing at Ohio Northern University, updated Ada Community Improvement members on ONU nursing students' involvement in the community. She spoke at the Feb. 17 CIC meeting.
Nursing students have participated in several community events including a service learning experience at ReStore, Ada Civic Engagement Day, Harvest and Herb Festival and Pack-A-Way Hunger event.
The department is working on a shared grant with the pharmacy college that, if approved, will enable nursing students to make presentations in area schools about careers in nursing.
In other CIC action, the CIC acknowledged the merger of the Ada Buy Local group into the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
CIC's next meeting is Wednesday, March 16, at noon in the Ada depot.
