Bluffton HS grad playing on ONU women's lacrosse squad
By Monty Siekerman
Kylee Barnett stands ready to play lacrosse Saturday afternoon at Dial-Roberson Stadium, but she did not score, nor did any member of either team because the officials did not show up.
The game against Olivet was postponed to another day. This was to be the inaugural game for women's intercollegiate lacrosse at ONU. The next home game is scheduled for 1 p.m., March 6, against Keuka, N.Y.
Kylee, a junior exercise physiology major, is the daughter of Will and Connie Thompson. Her mom is executive administrative assistant to the vice president at ONU.
Kylee, a 2013 Bluffton High School graduate, was encouraged to go out for the team by a friend from Lebanon. And, she found that she liked the sport. She said it is a high-paced sport, a team sport, a sport that requires communicating with teammates at all times, and is an aggressive sport. "I love it," she said.
