Ada Junior Civic League taking pecan orders at Harvest and Herb Fest
The Ada Junior Civic League met at the home of Sandy Neely for a potluck dinner with 10 members and 6 guests present. The meeting was called to order by President Linda Ferguson. She began by thanking Sandy, Shirley Chambers and Sherry Evans for hosting.
Secretary, Sandy Neely gave the secretary's report from the May meeting. The roll call was called with each member talking about their summer highlights. Linda Ferguson gave the treasurer's report for Erin Swick. Corresponding secretary Linda Staley read a thank you from the Ada Library for our donation of $500 for the summer reading program.
Bev Romick reported for the Ways-n-Means committee that the club would once again be using Mascot for their annual pecan sale.
Persons can sign up to purchase pecans at the Ada JCL booth on Saturday, Sept. 17, at the H&H Festival or by contacting a JCL member. The club will once again be receiving pecans from this year’s crop and pecans will arrive at the beginning of November.
The club will also raffle off two $50 gas gift cards at the festival. In Special Projects the club will host the Crock Pot Tuesday on Oct. 18 and will be working the Bloodmobile Canteen in the month of March.
