Junior Ryan Bruns (Chickasaw/Marion Local) has been named the Ohio Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 4-10.

Bruns led the Polar Bears (5-2 overall, 3-0 OAC) to a perfect 2-0 week in the conference, including a win over Mount Union that moved ONU into first place in the conference standings.

The junior earned the honor for the first time in his career after averaging a double-double during the week with 27.0 points per contest and 10.0 rebounds per game.

In ONU's victory over Wilmington, Bruns tallied 24 points, tied a career-high with 14 rebounds, and added a game-best six blocks.

Bruns followed the performance up with a 30-point effort to lead ONU past Mount Union 86-82.

The Polar Bears return to the court on Saturday afternoon as they travel to University Heights for a matchup with John Carroll at 2 p.m.
