Ada’s Wills wins both matches in Florida match
KISSIMMEE, Fla. — The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept St. Vincent (Pa.) 9-0 on Tuesday at Oak Street Park.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-2 overall and lost only nine games in the nine matches, while the Bearcats fall to 6-9.
Senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) and sophomore Jordan Dodson (Worthington) swept their singles matches, winning 6-0, 6-0 at Nos. 2 and 5, respectively.
Kelly and sophomore Mackenzie Wills (Ada) won 8-0 at No. 1 doubles and junior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and sophomore Katie Curry(Oxford/Talawanda) won 8-0 at No. 2 doubles.
Dodson and freshman Macey Comacho (Hartville/Lake) completed the doubles sweep with an 8-2 victory at No. 3.
In other singles play, Ochsenhirt won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1, Wills won 6-3, 6-0 at No. 3, Curry won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Camacho won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with matches schedulked against Muhlenberg (Pa.), Webber International (Fla.) and Emerson (Mass.)
