Ada’s Wills wins singles, doubles
The Ohio Northern women's tennis team swept Baldwin Wallace 9-0 in an Ohio Athletic Conference match on Tuesday afternoon in Berea.
The Polar Bears improve to 14-4 overall and stay atop the OAC standings with a 4-0 record, while the Yellow Jackets fall to 7-7, 1-2.
Northern got off to a quick start by sweeping the doubles matches.
Junior Ashley Ochsenhirt (Birmingham, Ala./Briarwood Christian) and sophomore Katie Curry (Oxford/Talawanda) won 8-0 at No. 3, senior Lynn Kelly (Mason) and sophomore Mackenzie Wills (Ada) picked up an 8-2 victory at No. 2 and sophomore Kaleigh Cummins(Springfield/Northeastern) and freshman Sabine Worthoff (West Chester/Mount Notre Dame) won 8-4 at No. 1.
Wills then won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6 singles and Curry won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5 singles to clinch the match.
Ochesnhirt won 7-5 (retired), at No. 1; Kelly won 7-5, 6-1 at No. 2; Worthoff won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3 and Cummins won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
