Molinaro competes against some of the top runners in the country
TEMPE, Ariz. — Senior Matt Molinaro (Sterling Heights, Mich./DeLaSalle) competed in the 800-meter run on Saturday evening as he represented the Ohio Northern men's outdoor track and field team at the Sun Angel Track Classic in Tempe, Arizona.
The senior competed in the premier section of the race and was the only Division III athlete competing in the event, competing against seven Division I athletes and two professional athletes.
Molinaro finished ninth of 10 runners in 1:50.28 in the race and was within three seconds of a top-3 finish. He already owned the top time nationally in the event among Division III athletes, and improved that mark by .14 seconds.
The Polar Bears will return to action next Saturday as they travel to Delaware to compete in the All-Ohio Championships.
