ONU assistant football coach named
Sean Buckley has joined the the Ohio Northern football coaching staff as assistant coach and will coach the quarterbacks.
Prior to arriving at ONU, he was an assistant coach at Ohio State from 2013-17.
He was a part of 61 victories over this five year period and appeared in 5 New Year's Six Bowl games including 2 College Football Playoff Apperances.
He assisted in coaching Quarterbacks J.T. Barrett & Cardale Jones in 2014, as well as assisting coaching running backs Ezekiel Elliott & Mike Weber in 2015 and Tight End Marcus Baugh from 2016-2017.
He is a 2010 graduate of he University of Toledo, where he received a bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
A native of Perrysburg, Ohio, Buckley started coaching while a student at the University of Toledo at Genoa Area High School and helped coach Mike Vicars' teams amass a 56-7 record, win 48 consecutive regular season games, and capture four league titles and a state final four appearance in 2008.
The Polar Bears posted a 7-3 record and were second in the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 6-3 league mark in 2017 under 14th-year head coach Dean Paul.
