Women’s basketball looks to 5th consecutive OAC championship

Following another successful season under the guidance of Michele Durand, the Ohio Northern women's basketball team will tip off its 2018-19 schedule at the Allegheny (Pa.) Tip-Off Tournament from Nov. 16-17.

 

The Polar Bears will play two contests during the tournament, with the opponents yet to be determined.

Following the Allegheny (Pa.) Tip-Off Tournament, Northern will open the home portion of its schedule on Nov. 20 as it welcomes area-foe Defiance to the ONU Sports Center before hosting Ohio Wesleyan at home on Nov. 24.

Northern will also travel to non-conference opponent Case Western Reserve on Nov. 28.

After opening the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of the schedule with road contests at Mount Union on Dec. 1, at John Carroll on Dec. 15, and at Heidelberg on Dec. 19, and home bouts with Wilmington on Dec. 5 and Capital on Dec. 8, Northern will travel across the country to compete in the D3Hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. from Dec. 28-29.

The Polar Bears will return home and open the New Year with back-to-back home conference contests with Muskingum on Jan. 5and Baldwin Wallace on Jan 9.

Northern will also host conference-foes Otterbein on Jan. 16, Mount Union on Jan. 26, Marietta on Feb. 2 and Heidelberg on Feb.

As part of the double-round robin OAC schedule, Ohio Northern will also travel to Marietta on Jan. 12, Capital on Jan. 19, Wilmington on Jan. 23, Baldwin Wallace on Jan. 30, Otterbein on Feb. 6, John Carroll on Feb. 9 and Muskingum on Feb. 16.

The OAC Tournament in slated for Feb. 19, 21 and 23 at the higher seeded opponents facility.

Northern finished the 2017-18 campaign with a 23-5 record and claimed the OAC Regular Season title for a fourth consecutive season.
