Women’s volleyball looks for another great year
The Ohio Northern volleyball program enters the 2018 season under 28th-year head coach Kate Witte with high expectations for continued success on the conference and national stages. The team is ranked 19th in the nation.
Coach Witte and her staff will welcome back 12 varsity letter winners and 15 total returning athletes. This year's roster will also feature five incoming freshman. None are from Ada or neighboring schools.
"We have the potential – we have a lot of veterans and a lot of experience back – and an opportunity to have an excellent season," Coach Witte remarked.
Among the returning athletes, three boast All-OAC accolades, two collected All-Great Lakes Region honors, and one garnered AVCA All-American status.
Northern’s first match will be at the ONU Invitational Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. Thomas More (Ky.), Carnegie Mellon (Pa.), Defiance, and Case Western will compete in the invitational.
