Anabel Alexander and Brice Ferguson are crowned AHS Homecoming Queen and King at football pregame ceremonies Friday evening at War Memorial Stadium.
Last year’s royalty was on hand to congratulate Anabel and Brice. They are Alex Waugh, now an ONU student, and Jakob Hoschak, now a student at Ashland University.
Eight police, fire, and EMS vehicles led the Ada Schools Homecoming parade. The parade of king and queen candidates, band, cheerleaders, and volleyball teams made its way from the school parking lot 1.2 miles to the football stadium at War Memorial Park.
Shortly after arriving, the the pregame ceremonies began with the naming of the king (Brice Ferguson) and queen (Anabel Alexander).
Meanwhile, the Athletic Boosters, Academic Boosters, Music Boosters and yearbook staff all had booths near the main entrance to sell various items. Food, drinks, and popcorn, were available as well. It was a night to sell Gatorade, not hot coffee, since the traditional brisk fall evening for football turned out to be a hot, sunny night for a Homecoming game.
