Men’s soccer at home Saturday night
This Saturday's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's soccer program returns to Kerscher Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 15 as they host the Oberlin Yeomen in nonconference action ... The Polar Bears enter the weekend's contest sporting a 2-2-1 overall record after knocking off D3soccer.com's No. 19-ranked Ohio Wesleyan squad 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Olentangy Liberty High School ... In the contest, senior Joseph Schulte netted the eventual game winner just 90 seconds into the contest while junior Luke Fickenworthand sophomore Beelal Hasan each added a strike to the scoreline ... With his goal Wednesday, Hasan now owns a team-high four goals and nine points this season ... Meanwhile, junior Michael Bringard and freshman Dylan Beck pace the Polar Bear lineup with two assists each ... In net, senior William Velotta has registered all five starts, 18 saves, a 2.07 goals against average, and a pair of shutouts in 2018 ... The visiting Yeomen currently stand at 0-5-0 on the year with their most recent outing ending in a 2-1 loss at the hands of Grove City (Pa.) Wednesday evening ... Junior Jack McMillan and sophomore Julian Klingen have each scored a goal this season to lead the team ... Sophomore goalkeeper Fiachra McDonagh has logged all 450 minutes in net, recording 28 saves and a 2.40 goals against average.
