Open house Saturday for new business
Marilyn Reed will have an open house Saturday for a new business called Art and Soul Painting Studio located at 7638 CR 90, which is between SR 309 and Foraker. The open house will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. The studio will be open, and a tent has been put up for the open house where several craftsmen will have work on display and for sale.
Marilyn says she paints on “anything that doesn’t move.” She paints gourds, murals, on wood pieces made by her husband and, of course, on canvas.
She is a familiar name in Ada, having taught the painting class at The Inn on a monthly basis for several years. She has also held classes at churches and campgrounds.
Her new studio is designed for artists in mind with natural light from the ceiling and a large door to bring in bigger objects. Her goal is to have a studio where people feel comfortable creating their art work.
She will hold classes there for people of all ages, offer private classes, and work with others on special projects.
For more information, she can be reached at 419-674-7499.
