Ada Kiwanis officers installed
Joseph Ferguson became the 95th president of the Ada Kiwanis Club at an installation ceremony on Tuesday. Other 2018-2019 club officers include President-Elect Marlene Hoorman, Treasurer Bryan Marshall, and Secretary Jon Umphress. The Immediate past president is Jack Jeffery, who will continue to serve on the club’s board of directors for the next year.
The Kiwanis Club of Ada supports community project such as Ada High School scholarships, Arbor Day, American Red Cross swimming lessons, Ada Public Library summer reading program, F&M Picnic pedal pull, Memorial tree planting at War Memorial Park, 4-H at the Hardin County Fair, Hardin County Key Club, annual Halloween parade, Town and Gown banquet, Hardin Pioneer Aktion Club, ONU Circle K and the Key leader program.
“Kids need Kiwanis in our community and in communities around the world,” said new President Ferguson. “Our club believes in children and wants to provide all kids with an opportunity to thrive. prosper, and grow.”
The Ada Kiwanis Club welcomes new members who want to serve their community. Information about becoming a member is available by phoning Secretary Jon Umphress at 567-204-9241 or by attending the weekly meeting each noon in the Dean’s Heritage Room in McIntosh Center.
