A Beatitudes Thanksgiving
By Paula Scott
The Beatitudes Belles set a beautiful Thanksgiving table for more than 35 and prepared an eat-in or take-out feast for some 150 diners on Tuesday, November 22. The free meal was open to all with an RSVP.
The community center at 210 N. Main St. was filled with the delicious scent of turkey, gravy, dressing, etc., etc. Stacks of desserts were hidden in styrofoam containers. We can only imagine the pots and pans to be washed.

Just prior to the sign-in table, a large quantity of poinsettia plants were being given away as a Thanksgiving gift from the Kay Rex family.
Director Deb Curlis gathered volunteers for a photo op and prayer. Many of the volunteers were easy to spot in their sunny yellow Beatitudes shirts.
Beatitudes services including this Thanksgiving meal are provided free of charge. They are funded through a combination of thrift store receipts, private donations and grant monies.
