The Ada Lions Club met on May 24, 2023 to honor new scholarship recipients. Lions Scholarship Chair Robert C Simmons introduced the students. 

The scholarship winners introduced their family members in attendance, shared some of their high school activities, where they were going to further their education, career goals and college major. The Lions Club provided a meal for scholarship recipients and their families.

The club awarded seven scholarships for a total of $5750.00.  A special scholarship award was given in honor of longtime Lion Member Charles Thomas Cassell, with Courtney Sumner receiving the award.

Since 2000, the Ada Lions Club has made 117 scholarship awards, with a total of $105,950 provided to students at Ada Schools.

The Ada Lions Club has been in existence for 69 years. Fundraising projects include annual Lions mulch sales, selling tickets for Ohio Northern University football and basketball games, raffle ticket sales and being a food vendor at the Harvest and Herb Festival.
