Fundraiser delay creates more time to help "Strike Out Cancer"
By Cort Reynolds
The Ada softball program's second annual “Strike Out Cancer” fundraiser was postponed Tuesday, June 13 due to rain and is rescheduled for Thursday, June 29.
The event will feature a varsity high school game between the Ada softball and baseball teams, a pre-game contest and a sale of various items.
Funds from the event held at the varsity softball diamond in War Memorial Park will be raised to help two Ada teachers.
A home run derby competition will be held from 5-5:45 p.m. This event is open to all ages, with no limit on entries. It costs five dollars to hit five balls.
At 6:00 p.m., the Ada varsity teams will compete in a slow-pitch softball contest.
A bake sale, 50/50 tickets and raffle baskets will be for sale throughout the event.
If an individual or business would like to donate and support this cause, please contact event organizer Traci McClain at 419-306-9908.
