OSU Marching Band director makes a visit to Ada Schools
On March 1, Dr. Chirstopher D. Hoch, director of The Ohio State University Marching Band, visited the Ada Schools to work with its band programs. Dr. Hoch has five degrees, all from OSU, including his doctorate in Music Education. The connection comes from Ada's band director, Carter Bivens, who earned his bachelors in Music Education at Ohio State. Asa an undergraduate, Bivens spent five years in the marching band under the direction of Dr. Hoch.
"It is truly a full circle moment to have Dr. Hoch working with my kids in Ada. Dr. Hoch helped me aspire to be the best version of myself by holding me and everyone in the band to the highest standards. It is hard not to appreciate someone who believes you can aspire for more. The kids learned a lot in his short visit with us," commented Bivens.
