By Cort Reynolds
Ada junior Jenna Bassitt repeated as a first team all-district selection for Div. IV softball in voting recently conducted by the area coaches.
Bassitt led Ada to an 18-4 overall record and second place in the Northwest Conference with a 7-1 mark in 2024.
She posted a 17-4 pitching record with an earned run average of just over one run per game. She also led the team in batting average, on base pct., runs scored and stolen bases.
Bassitt struck out 196 batters in 139 innings pitched. Her 17 victories set a program record for wins in a season.

First team all-district picks are eligible for all-state voting.
Bulldog junior catcher Natilyn McClain was voted honorable mention all-district for the second straight year.
The plucky backstop led Ada with five home runs, including a grand slam in the 10-0 sectional title win over St. Henry.
She was also one of the team leaders in runs batted in, runs scored, on base pct. and slugging pct.
Ada fashioned a 12-game win streak this season and advanced to districts for the first time since the 2018 Bulldogs made it to the regional semifinals.
