The Ada Exempted Village Schools has announced that Walter W. Bettinger II has been selected as the 2025 inductee into the Ada High School Alumni Hall of Honor. The school district will celebrate this honor as well as the 2024 Scholarship Recipient on Saturday, January 11 with a 5:00 p.m. reception at the cafeteria.
A 1979 graduate of Ada High School, Bettinger has served as Co-Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Charles Schwab Corporation since 2022. In addition, he served as Chief Executive Officer of the firm from late 2008 through 2024. He led a global workforce of over 32,000 employees and managed nearly $9.74 trillion in client assets. Under his leadership, Schwab’s market capitalization grew from approximately $19 billion to $150 billion.
Bettinger is the founder of The Hampton Company, which was acquired by Schwab in 1995, and is an active philanthropist through the Walt & Teri Bettinger Foundation. The foundation has generously supported numerous initiatives, including local charities, universities, churches and Ada High School programs.
The district notes that "Walt’s remarkable professional success and dedication to his community make him a deserving recipient of this honor. We are excited to celebrate his induction and his many contributions."
