May 19 MEDIA RELEASE__United Way of Hardin County hosted its Annual Meeting on May 16, celebrating another successful year of community service, collaboration and giving. The event brought together local leaders, volunteers, partner agencies and supporters to recognize the outstanding contributions that make a lasting impact on the lives of Hardin County residents.  A highlight of the evening was the presentation of three distinguished awards, honoring individuals and organizations that exemplify the spirit of community partnership:

Volunteer of the Year was awarded to Chad Rudesill, whose dedication and tireless efforts have significantly supported United Way programs and services.

Business Partner of the Year was presented to Ohio Northern University, recognized for their ongoing support, workplace campaign success, and commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Educational Partner of the Year went to Hardin Northern Local Schools in recognition of their innovative engagement with students and strong alignment with United Way's mission.

Special recognition was given to Dr. Melissa J. Baumann, President of Ohio Northern University, for serving as the Honorary Chair of the 2024/25 Campaign.  Another highlight of the evening was the Bonnie McBride Pie Auction, which once again proved to be a heartwarming—and delicious—success. Attendees generously bid on homemade pies, raising substantial funds to support local programs. The auction is named in honor of longtime supporter Bonnie McBride, whose legacy inspires giving and community spirit.

“We are grateful for the unwavering support of our partners, volunteers, and donors,” said Martha Nau, Executive Director of United Way of Hardin County. “This event reminds us of the power of community and how much we can achieve when we work together.”

The Annual Meeting also featured a review of the past year’s achievements, updates on funded initiatives, and a look ahead at upcoming campaigns focused on education, health, and financial stability.
