Old Route 69 Brewery to open on August 1
JULY 24 MEDIA RELEASE__The wait is almost over! Moon King Entertainment Group is revving up for the Grand Opening of Old Route 69 Brewery on Friday, August 1 at 120 East Buckeye Ave. in the heart of downtown Ada, Ohio.
Doors open at 11 a.m. for a Ribbon Cutting in collaboration with the Ada Chamber of Commerce, and the team is ready to welcome guests into a one-of-a-kind destination packed with local flavor, fun and family-inclusive entertainment.
With 22,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, Old Route 69 Brewery offers much more than just great beer—it’s a full experience. Think craft brews, chef-inspired eats, games for all ages and a vibe that’s equal parts roadside nostalgia and small-town charm.
Over 40 new jobs have been created across brewing, cooking, guest services, and more—all aimed at delivering a standout experience from the first pour to the last bite.
Inside the taproom, guests can catch the game on big screens or unwind at the spacious bar while drinking craft beers created by a 20-year veteran of the craft beer industry, John Novotny. Beyond that, the dining area features duckpin bowling, pool, darts, Keno, a 210” LED TV, and plenty of seating for groups and families. The food menu—designed by local culinary standout Michael Allen—includes elevated bar fare, sandwiches, burgers, bowls, salads and artisan pizzas served throughout the venue.
The beer garden offers ample Adirondack and traditional beer garden table seating, fire pits and lawn games. The outdoor entertainment pavilion–complete with a 140” LED TV–is sure to become a favorite spot for listening to music, screening movies or watching sports.
“Our goal with every Moon King venue is to create more than a place to eat and drink—we’re building experiences,” said Billy Watterson, CEO of Watterson Brands and Moon King Entertainment Group. “With Old Route 69 Brewery, we’ve leaned into America’s love of the open road, the automotive spirit and the unique history of a town like Ada, Ohio. This brewery is a celebration of where we’ve been and where we’re going.”
The idea began five years ago when Watterson teamed up with longtime friend and fellow Ada native Troy Erickson to bring the vision to life.
“Old Route 69 Brewery embodies everything we love about this community,” said Erickson. “It’s about local pride, regional flavor and creating a space that feels like home while offering something totally new. We’ve partnered with local vendors and poured our hearts into every detail—this is truly a hometown project.”
Whether you’re a craft beer enthusiast, a road tripper passing through, or just looking for a new favorite local spot, Old Route 69 Brewery promises a grand opening worth the ride.”
