Bulldog volleyball loses BVC opener vs. Liberty-Benton

FINDLAY__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost its Blanchard Valley Conference opener at Liberty-Benton in straight sets on Wednesday, September 3.

L-B knocked Ada from the unbeaten ranks with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-16 victory.

The Bulldog girls fell to 6-1 overall and 0-1 in BVC play after suffering their first defeat. 

The Eagles improved to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the BVC with the win.

Senior Anna Conley connected on five kills to pace the Bulldog hitters.

Freshman Téa Griffith came up with two blocks, passed out four assists, made five digs and smacked three kills. 

Junior setter Jaylin St. Laurent served up four aces, dished out eight assists and came up with six digs. 

Junior Dailah Preston hammered three kills. Junior Brooklynn Andreasen knocked down three kills and came up with one block.

Senior libero Alyssa Madison mustered eight digs. Junior Alivia Gibson hustled up seven digs and drilled three kills. 

Corra Dehart led L-B with 15 kills, five blocks and three aces. Eagle Ally Hocanson dished out 30 assists. Maddy Amstutz mustered 19 digs and dealt a pair of aces.

The Bulldog spikers play a tri-match at Cory-Rawson (1-4) with Delphos Jefferson (2-4) on Saturday, Sept.6 at 10 a.m.

Ada then hosts Vanlue (0-5, 0-0 BVC) on Monday, Sept. 8 in the home opener.
