Bulldog volleyball loss to Arlington

ARLINGTON__The visiting Ada High School volleyball team lost a tough four-set bout to Arlington in a Blanchard Valley Conference match on Wednesday, September 17.
Ada dropped game one yet evened the match with a second-set win. But a close overtime loss in game three tipped the momentum in favor of the hosts, who closed it out in four.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 10-3 overall and 2-3 in the BVC after the 25-20, 18-25, 26-24, 25-21 road defeat.
The Red Devils improved to 7-7 overall and 2-2 in the BVC with the home win.
The Bulldogs previously beat Arlington 25-17, 25-16 as part of a tri-match August 30 at Hardin Northern, but the Devils turned the tables this time.
Senior Anna Conley led Ada with nine kills and seven digs. Junior Dailah Preston knocked down eight kills and hustled up four blocks.
Freshman Téa Griffith amassed eight digs, passed out 16 assists and dealt two aces.
Junior setter Jaylin St. Laurent also doled out 16 assists and served two aces.
Junior Brooklynn Andreasen smacked six kills and came up with two blocks. Junior Alivia Gibson drilled four kills, came up with six digs and served up three aces.
Senior libero Alyssa Madison mustered up 23 digs. Senior Alainee Buxton hammered four kills.
Red Devil setter Ellie Marquart recorded her 1,000th career assist during the match.
The Ada junior varsity also lost, 2-0.
The Bulldog girls visit undefeated league-leader Leipsic (13-0, 5-0 BVC) on Monday, Sept. 22.
Ada is 5-2 on the road, 3-0 at neutral sites and 2-1 at home this season.
