Bulldog volleyball loss to unbeaten Leipsic

LEIPSIC__The Ada High School volleyball team lost a three-set match at red-hot Blanchard Valley Conference leader Leipsic on Monday, September 22.
The Bulldog girls dropped to 10-4 overall and 2-4 in the BVC with the 25-7, 25-18, 25-10 defeat.
The undefeated Vikings improved to 14-0 overall and 6-0 in BVC play after the win. Leipsic is rated second in the state Div. VII MaxPreps poll, behind only Tiffin Calvert.
Senior libero Alyssa Madison led Ada with 10 digs.
Junior setter Jaylin St. Laurent hustled up seven digs, served two aces and dished out six assists.
Freshman Téa Griffith mustered six digs, made two blocks, drilled five kills and doled out three assists. Junior Alivia Gibson came up with seven digs.
Hustling Harlyn Lowry hustled up six digs. Junior Brooklynn Andreasen mustered four blocks and hit two kills.
Senior Alainee Buxton came up with two blocks. Junior Dailah Preston knocked down two kills.
Leipsic standout senior hitter Danaysia Danzy hammered 18 kills and came up with eight digs to surpass 1,000 career digs. Danzy is the only player in Viking spike history who has accumulated over 1,000 career digs and 1,000 career kills.
Danzy, the 2024 BVC Player of the Year, has hit for over 1,400 career kills.
Viking setter Karmyn Brough doled out 35 assists. Kya Brandt knocked down seven kills. Jaelynn Siefer added 10 digs and three aces.
Leipsic also won the junior varsity match, 2-0.
It doesn’t get much easier for Ada when they visit tough league foe Van Buren (12-3, 3-2 BVC) on Wednesday.
VB swept New Riegel Monday night as Brooklyn Wilkin hit 21 kills and came up with 13 digs. Black Knight Selma Brandt drilled 15 kills and hustled up 16 digs. Lydia Ponn passed out 32 assists.
The Bulldog girls then play in the annual eight-team Cory-Rawson Invitational on Saturday.
