Early on a chilly mid-November day, a Village of Ada crew welcomed Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce volunteers for a morning of happy work, decorating Depot Park for the holidays.
Numerous red tubs were pulled from the Depot, filled with garlands, strings of lights, spotlights and red ribbons. Foreman Joe Hefner encouraged "Santa's elves" to go for it, but also provided guidance on what goes where. Village employees are also decorating Main St. light poles.
Volunteers from the Ada Icon, Ada Public Library, Big Brothers Big Sisters of West Central Ohio, Century 21 Sunway Realty, Farmers & Merchants Picnic, Mercantile on Main and Wilson Football Factory joined Council member Bob Simmons and Chamber member Jill Simmons in the display of holiday and community spirit.
In addition to providing cheer for day and especially evening passersby, the park will be the site of the December 6 Merry on Main festivities coordinated by the Chamber, details below.
