Downtown Ada was bustling with Merry on Main activities on Saturday, December 13. The annual event is promoted by the Ada Area Chamber of Commerce.
Families gathered at Depot Park to meet with Santa Claus and Ohio Northern’s lovable polar bear mascot, Klondike. The Depot was also the staging area for free horse-drawn wagon rides.
Merry on Main signs were posted at participating businesses. Century 21 brought visitors to meet Princesses Anna, Elsa, and their friend Olaf. Old Route 69 Brewery kept a warm fire outside for guests to roast S’mores. Beatitudes hosted “Friends from Whoville” and held a free kids' shopping event.
Despite dropping temperatures and snowfall, the event pressed on, with Ada Public Library showing movies such as Elf Land and How the Grinch Stole Christmas, while children and their families worked on constructing their own Christmas ornaments.
