Eugene Royer, 1929-2026
Eugene Royer, age 96, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at Logan Acres Care Center, Bellefontaine.
He was born on October 31, 1929, in Roundhead, Ohio, to the late Ted and Thelma Royer. On October 13, 1951, Eugene married Mariann Wienken, and she passed away on September 28, 2024.
Also surviving are his three children: Rick (Brenda) Royer of Roundhead, Julie Collins of Lima, and Sally (Gary) Newfer of Roundhead; daughter-in-law, Kristi Royer of Roundhead; eight grandchildren: Paige Collins, Spencer Collins, Garrett Royer, Willow Lowery, Noah Lowery, Bri (Wayne) Viera, Shawn DeLong and Caleb DeLong; and four great grandchildren.
Eugene was preceded in death by his son, Larry Royer, and two grandchildren: Kristi Newfer and John Newfer.
Eugene retired after working for 35 years at Rockwell-Arvin Meritor in Kenton. He was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Eugene was a member of the Mid-Ohio Electric Co-op Board, the Hardin County Educational Service Center, the Upper Scioto Valley School Board, the Hardin County Farm Bureau and the Hardin County Cattleman Association.
Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at McDonald-Fairview Cemetery, Kenton, with Pastor Gregg King officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Alger.
