Obituary for Jan Elaine Williams

Jan Elaine Williams, age 81, of Lima, passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Lima Memorial Health System with her family by her side.

Jan was born on March 5, 1945, in Bluffton, Ohio, to the late Robert Chester and M. Imogene (Weaver) Long. On October 30, 1993, Jan married Glen Williams. She was previously married to Barney Wilson.

Jan is survived by her husband, Glen Williams of Lima; daughter, Tianna Wilson of Lima; stepson, Brian Williams of Findlay; granddaughter, Cassie Lopata; five step grandchildren: Morgan (DJ) Susi, Brian Kiser, Logan Williams, Remington (Fiancé Lilly Anderson) Williams and Dalton Williams; a brother, Greg “RG” Long of Carrolton, GA; and sister, Jackie Ackerman of Harrod.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Joan Owen; two stepsisters: Patsy Fancher and Betty Fisher; and stepson, Doug Williams.

Jan attended the last three years of high school in Ada. She has kept her class of 1963 together with monthly lunches and as many reunions as possible. This was very important to her. She enjoyed volunteering at Crossroads Church for many years with her niece, Barb Hubbell. This helped her relationship with the Lord and grew her faith immensely. Her favorite verse: Matthew 6:34 - Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now! And don't get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.

She loved living in Florida and met so many new and lasting friends, including special friend Donna Neuhaus.

She enjoyed doing cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, painting, gardening, playing card and board games as well as jigsaw and sudoku puzzles. She loved spending time with family and friends especially her grandchildren. She loved life, people and the Lord.

Special friends Belle Agler, Donna Neuhaus, Andrea Pifer and many nieces and nephews with wonderful families we are so proud of.

It was Jan’s wish to be cremated. A memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
